ATP Thailand Open 2008

YAY I managed to watch the ATP Thailand Open 2008 at the IMPACT Arena located at Muang Thong Thani District, a location for their sports center. WQ's supervisor and colleagues were planning to play Tennis but they changed their mind and instead planned to watch the competition. There were 2 matches held in the evening session. It was Novak Djokovic vs Robin Soderling and a doubles match between J. Benneteau/N. Mahut vs M.Safin/M. Zverev. It was a gd experience as it my first time to watch an ATP Tour live. A friend of WQ's colleague is from the local tennis club and he managed to get the tix for us at onli 300baht. The original price was 1000 baht. Hehe i really have to say thx to him.. On Saturday de 5 of us went to the downtown area to do some window shopping at the Chatuchak Wkend Market. The market is like the local version of Bugis St in Sg except that u can find some stuff u cant find in Bugis St like pet stores and handicraft stores. We then headed off to Carrefour Rangsit bcoz we have been trying hard to find a rice cooker. We ended up buying tons of food and also most imptly the electric cooker. With the cooker we can now whip up some meals for ourself wahahaha... Time for some pics! Enjoy!

YO PPL~~! Its our 2nd day here and so far so SUPER good. First day was a hectic day as we arrived at Changi airport in de morning at 8.30am. Well maybe it was difficult to say gdbye to our families but i guess 4months here is still relatively short. I didnt manage to use internet bcoz of the 2pid LAN cable, which wasnt long enuff for me and de internet wasnt activated. The Suvarnabhumi airport is a gorgeous airport i tink is better den KLIA in Malaysia. As soon as we stepped out of the airport the 5 of us were frantically finding the Biotec placard. But we didn’t take a long time for us to find the placard, which was held by a sweet looking lady who came to fetch us from the airport. I guess enthusiasm is in the gene of most Thais. They welcomed us in a very warmth manner and their hospitality is simply superb. Speaking about hospitality, de best of all is the hostel. Even though the hostel is not as high class as others, i tink the amenities of the hostel is adequate for ppl like us. We were surprised that there is a hair salon and a few mama shops and even cafes. This really makes me feel like home and we are satisfied with everything over here. I slowly realised y a lot of ppl wants to come to Thailand. The food is bloody cheap can?! Sibei wu hua lor, even if u eat a lot I tink u wont even feel a pinch in ur heart coz it really satisfy ur pocket and ur stomach. Over here there are lots of things tt u cant really find in SG. Such as the glass bottled soft drinks and cheap F&B. As soon as we settled down in our dorm, Ms Surang (pi-ying) and Ms Wanravee (pi-wan), the lady who was pestered by Paul for the entire month, brought us to meet the supervisors. I tink my supervisor is a fast runner, in the sense that he does his work in a quick manner and I always see him running up and down the entire biotec. I dunno wats wrong is wif the lab bcoz my lab is full of girls can? I m surprised to see that all of them are doing their master degree and to me they look very young even though I managed to get them to reveal their age to me. I realise my mentor is a shy guy who is also pursuing his Master's degree and I feel that he is really patient and willing to teach new stuffs to Dan and me. However to be honest, sometimes I feel very 2pid bcoz whenever the girls engage in conversations, they speak in Thai. This really make me feel 2pid bcoz I really dun understand a single sh*t. So of coz I told myself I gonna pick up some simple Thai phrases that will not make me feel 2pid. K la I m tired so I gonna post some pictures that will do de toking for me. (BTW pi/pee is a way to address somebody older than u in Thai language. For some1 younger than u, u shld address he/she as nong.) p.s hey ive seen ur msg and I also wish u all the best to u
